Welcome to our site! The GFWC Woman’s Club of Delray Beach supports and promotes community activities and organizations as well as General Federation of Women’s Club state and national initiatives. We are a VOLUNTEER organization. GFWC is one of the world’s largest and oldest non-denominational, non-partisan, international volunteer service organizations of women.
On August 16, 2022, Mayor Shelly Petrolia, presented a PROCLAMATION to our President, Joycelyn Patrick. She declared it, “GFWC Woman’s Club of Delray Beach Day.” The Proclamation outlined all the accomplishments of the club since 1902. (See a summary of accomplishments on the History page)
Unlike most of today’s single-initiative organizations, GFWC, through its six departments, has programs in:
(1) Arts — nurturing art creativity and the arts community; such as Mary Hochman’s 1st Prize Entry at District 10’s Arts & Crafts Meeting in March 2022.
(2) Conservation — encouraging participation in community improvement programs
(3) Education — promoting literacy & leadership in a variety of ways. At a meeting in March 2022, author Pamela J. Brown presented her book, “Until I Met You.”
Sgt. Brown, Pamela Brown, and Joycelyn Patrick, President of DB Woman’s Club
(4) Home Life — supporting quality of life issues for all; such as collecting and delivering towels and 75 hygiene kits for homeless men and women who utilize the “Shower Trucks.”
(5) International Outreach — reaching out to support global initiatives
(6) Public Issues — educating members in the importance of “active citizenship”
